Is either character a secondary character or are both primary characters? If one is a secondary character, it makes sense that it would possibly try to pick it as intended. I will flag this to be forwarded to the language team.
Trying again after clearing the app cache Testing second line. line.
AgaAgain (pressed backspace) TTes (it is harder to duplicate the doubling up of letters at the beginning of a line. Backspacing still caucause problems. Then that just happened, and it wasn't even the beginning of the line.)
You are correct, we do not really know how many people this affects. I am glad that you have found the forum and reported it. Like you said, too often issues do not get dealt with until enough people do speak up.
The new beta today didn't fix all of the issues with Chrome, but I have already reported that so that work can continue on it.
Welcome to the forums and look around. Feel free to join in any conversations that interest you.
Testing first line. Testing the second line. TestiTestihe (I didn't have problems until I used the backspace key) Wondering if another word will be worse. AgAgain the 5th line had a problem. (no backspace this time) The problem is still there.
The other bug that you are describing sounds like one in Chrome. It is a known issue that hopefully will be fixed in the next update.
Yes, this has been reported before, but I have seen it cause problems for about a half dozen people. Other problems affect more people. It makes sense to work on the problems that affect the most people first. Hopefully they get this problem fixed soon as well.
The "magnification gesture" setting allows you to magnify the screen with a double tap. I agree that it is beyond horrible to try to type with that turned on. If you have any problems finding the setting on your phone to turn this off, post the model of phone that you have and what version of Android that it is running on and either myself or another member will assist you with getting it turned off.
When you report a problem, the biggest priority is reporting all of the factors that apply: Phone model, Android version, Whether it is easily replicated or sporadic, what apps it effects, and if possible instructions for others to be able to duplicate your experience. You can also include how critical you feel the problem to be. I really like that added detail that is sometimes overlooked.
I thought that Chrome might be part of the problem. There are some known issues with Chrome that will hopefully be fixed in the next release. You can read about it on the thread here: http://vip.swiftkey.com/index.php?/topic/12336-Words-double-up-in-Chrome-text-fields-(Helpelp)-[bug-Reported]
You definitely don't need a second device. The beta installs separately from the official release so that you can switch back and forth to compare changes. I still have some older devices, but only use them to confirm problems on older versions of Android. It is rare that I have needed to do that in a long time.
I look forward to seeing you in the Beta bug reports and discussions sections of the forum.
