How much different does the contacts app look than my S4 on 5.0.1? This is just a pic of the top of the app. It shows the tabs for dialer, call logs, favorites, and contacts at the top. You can just tap on whichever you want to go to.

  2. driftinganomaly added a post in a topic Words double up in Chrome text fields (Helpelp) [Bug Reported]

I updated to the newest version of Chrome. After that, I was not able to reproduce the issue at the beginning of every new line. I still experienced the doubling up of words sporadically as well as other oddities. Sometimes after choosing the prediction, it didn't insert a space after the word. Continuing typing caused letters before the cursor to jumble and double while outputting letters after the cursor. When this was going on, backspacing would cause it to randomly jump lines as well. It was pretty weird and I had it happen several times. It is not as easy to reproduce as the previous issue.

I just upgraded the official app from 5.3.3.73 last night. I think that this update has come out within the last week. Check your S3 again and see if the play store has updated yet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  5. driftinganomaly added an answer to a question Flip the numeric keyboard?

I agree with you completely. I hope that this is reconsidered, at least as a possible option. I was just informing you what I was told when I tried to push for this a couple of years ago. I am sure that it is tricky to try to balance all of the varied expectations of a keyboard. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  6. driftinganomaly added an answer to a question Flip the numeric keyboard?

The first suggestion was officially rejected when I brought it up several years ago. While I thought that the 10 key number orientation made much more sense on a keyboard, the official rejection stated that since it was on a phone, the 123 should be at the top like the dialer, because that is what users will expect. I hope that SwiftKey will reconsider this decision, but it is not likely after this many years with the number layout the way that it is. The second suggestion may be difficult to implement, but is an interesting idea. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

You can get to your dialer from your contacts. It takes one extra keypress. I would prefer to have separate shortcuts directly to both the dialer and to contacts. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  8. driftinganomaly added an answer to a question So difficult to type in email addresses in lower case

You are correct that SwiftKey and other Android keyboards usually turn off predictions / autocorrect in username fields. For this to work, the person /people who coded the website / app that you are signing into have to distinguish those fields so that the keyboards can react. From what the OP has said, the site he is accessing does not identify the username field, so solutions involving the prediction bar will work in this case.

Could you take a screenprint showing the issue? I have a comma to the left of the spacebar and one in the quick punctuation button. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  12. driftinganomaly added an answer to a question Windows 8.1 version?

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not allow third party keyboard apps for phones and tablets. Until they do, it isn't possible. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  13. driftinganomaly added a post in a topic No emoji in Amazon bought version?

The Amazon app store has not been supported for well over a year now. I am not certain of the reason, but the fact that Amazon doesn't allow third party keyboards on their devices probably didn't help. That app store ecosystem has really fallen off. Personally, I have repurchased anything on the Play Store that I actually used from my Amazon app store library. You can install the newest version from the play store for free. If you could share a link to that video, it would be appreciated. Videos really help to bridge the gap between described problems and the developers understanding exactly what is meant. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  15. driftinganomaly added an answer to a question Recovering lost message with SwiftKey

Unfortunately for you in this situation, SwiftKey does not save what you type as you typed it. What you typed is only ever "saved" as word association probability. If you use words together a certain way, it makes that type of usage more likely to be predicted. Another little detail is that (unless things have changed) SwiftKey doesn't actually learn what you are actively typing until the keyboard is closed. I wish you the best of luck recovering your notes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
