This seems to be an odd time to voice this complaint considering the release notes for the last update for SwiftKey and SwiftKey Beta both included "- adding support for Japanese (Romaji input method) into SwiftKey for the first time." I do remember seeing that at least one user missed the 12 key input method from the Babel version, but at least this is a start!
Check it out and see how it is working.

I do not remember SwiftKey having that option in settings, and if it did, I think that it would have to have been at least 4 years ago.
I do see the value of that suggestion for typing url's. A tip for writing url's is to start it with www. or http:// or https://. It will not autospace after a period with one of these prefixes. Hopefully this tip helps.
I don't think that SwiftKey has ever included a handwriting module.
SwiftKey Flow debuted as part of the Samsung keyboard on the Note (2 I think). The Samsung keyboard included the SwiftKey engine on their other keyboards. That is the only probable source for their confusion.
